Kristaps Porzingis tweeted about meeting the crying kid from draft night

Remember when the Knicks drafted Kristaps Porzingis and a crying, young fan became the symbol of the pick? Remember when many actually thought Porzingis wouldn't be what he's become?

It feels so long ago that much of the basketball community drenched itself in the fear of the unknown, but now that the fans have actually gotten to know him, things have changed. Now, there are no more crying kids. There are screaming ones, chanting ones, enthusiastic ones.

Last week, Porzingis actually met that crying fan, who will likely never live down that moment. Seriously, you think his friends won't be referring to that moment when he's 25 years old, at a bar with some buddies and any basketball-related topic comes up? They're mentioning it every chance they get. Forever. It's happening. He's like a depressing version of Jeffrey Maier.

At least Porzingis has a good sense of humor about it:
