Lakers' Byron Scott to be NBA Draft lottery representative
The Los Angeles Lakers are once again in relatively unfamiliar territory. After years and years of continued playoff success with Kobe Bryant, the Lakers will be visiting the lottery for the second season in a row.
According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, the team won't get too fancy with their chosen representative at the NBA Draft lottery:
"After coaching the Lakers’ worst team in franchise history, Byron Scott hopes he can bring better luck during a significant moment in the team’s rebuilding process," Medina wrote. "Scott will serve as the Lakers’ NBA Draft lottery representative on May 19 in New York."
The Lakers have an 82.8 percent chance of their draft pick landing within the top-five selections. If the pick doesn't land in the top-five, it will be conveyed to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the Steve Nash trade three years ago.
