Lakers rumors: What about Emmanuel Mudiay?
The latest Lakers rumors center on whether or not they’ll move to acquire Emmanuel Mudiay.
Should the Lakers acquire Emmanuel Mudiay in a trade?
In the 2015 NBA Draft, he was one of the players the Lakers were considering going after.
Instead, they drafted D’Angelo Russell and Larry Nance Jr.
Now he is a young star for the Denver Nuggets, who are thinking about trading him. There have been rumors going on with what the Nuggets are going to do.
Updated rumors include Mudiay being told he will not be shopped as according to Chris Dempsey the Nuggets aren’t looking to trade him.

However if they were looking to trade him would the Lakers be smart to go after him before the trade deadline? Here is who would fit into the Lakers if the Nuggets were to move on with one of their many point guards.
The Lakers are a young with a dash of a few veterans.
Magic Johnson, now an adviser for the Lakers, said, “they are a superstar away from competing with the Warriors and Spurs”.
Emmanuel Mudiay is not a super star, yet he is a rising star for the Nuggets.
He could be a developing superstar on the Lakers with the rest of the young core.
Also, I think the Lakers are the next future “super team.”

I agree with Johnson they are just one star away form competing in the West.
You ask how would he fit into the Lakers rotation since he is a point guard?
Well, he would come off the bench.
Also, if he were to start he could play shooting guard or even small forward since he is versatile.
If LA were to acquire him via trade they would have to give up either Jose Calderon, Marcelo Huertas, and or a few future draft picks.
This season he is averaging 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.
Last season and this season there has only been two games where he did not start. Therefore he could even land in the starting lineup with LA.
If he were to earn a starting role this is what the lineup would look like, D’Angelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay, Nick Young, Tarik Black, and Timofey Mozgov.
Mudiay would start in place of Deng who would bring his veteran presence off the bench.
That is how Emmanuel would fit into the Lakers starting rotation.
Emmanuel Mudiay could be the next rising star along with their young rising stars they need to compete in the West and make the playoffs.
