LeBron James will cover Dahntay Jones' fine for groin shot on Bismack Biyombo
LeBron James has offered to pay the fine that Cavaliers teammate Dahntay Jones received for hitting Raptors center Bismack Biyombo in the groin, according to Cleveland.com.
Jones was fined and handed a one-game suspension for the incident, which occured with 17.6 seconds left in Toronto's 99-84 Game 3 victory Saturday night.
While James can't do anything about Jones' suspension, the NBA superstar told Cleveland.com that he will "take care" of Jones' fine.
The cost for LeBron's heroic sentiment? Roughly $80.
While the amount is miniscule, Jones is appreciative of King James' gesture.
"(He's) just a great guy, anyway," said Jones.
Jones told reporters that the hit on Biyombo was not intentional and that he didn't even realize what had happened until after the fact.
Regardless, Jones will serve his suspension Monday night during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, which tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET in Toronto. The Cavaliers lead the series 2-1.
