Mark Wahlberg is going to produce a movie about Caron Butler

This past October, Caron Butler's memoirs, "Tuff Juice: My Journey From The Streets to the NBA," hit the shelves. "Tuff Juice" chronicles Butler's journey, from his checkered past of dealing crack cocaine (and being arrested 15 times before blowing out 15 candles per Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman) on up to his career as a successful NBA player. It's a great story that's already primed for a rags-to-riches movie.

Luckily for Butler, Mark Wahlberg loves rags-to-riches stories. Rough-and-tumble main characters and raw estates too. In a press release on Tuesday, Butler announced his longtime friend as a co-producer for the eventual film.

According to the Washington Post, Wahlberg also gets the option of playing one of the characters in the film.
