Myles Turner Drops 22 Points, 9 Rebounds, and 4 Blocks

Myles Turner’s 22 points helped lead the Indiana Pacers past the Charlotte Hornets, the blue and gold’s first win over that opponent in five tries.

Myles Turner put up his second best game of the season on Monday night as the Indiana Pacers held off the Charlotte Hornets.

A stat line of 22 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks — on 9 of 16 shooting, 4 of 7 from 3-point range — is impressive enough, but the way he capped it with a coup de grâce brought fans off their feet.

With a 1:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, Turner stepped out to the top of the key to knock down his fourth 3-pointer of the night, leaving Cody Zeller miles away with a step back jumper.

8 Points, 9 Seconds own Jared Wade broke it down like this.

“[This is] why dudes like Myles Turner and Kristaps Porzingis shooting 3’s is so damn unstoppable. He clears a solid 6 feet in a step-back.”

If Turner continues to hit 3-pointers consistently — his average is 37.8% this season — then he now has an unblockable shot in his arsenal.

The win brought the Pacers above .500 for the first time since opening night. On Monday, Indiana looked in control in a way we hadn’t seen from them for 48 minutes this season. The game had its ebbs and flows, but it never felt as if the Pacers were letting the Hornets get on a run. Charlotte never led by more than four points.

This season has taught us not to expect consistency from the Indiana Pacers, but they’ve finally put themselves ahead in the win column this season, a place they would like to stay.
