As the offseason continues to unwind, we dive into breaking down the best and worst haircuts in the NBA

No one really likes the NBA offseason. The time between the Olympics and Training Camp is a long, boring wait for all NBA fans. So here, to cheer up your day this offseason, let’s countdown the five best and worst haircuts in the NBA.

If you think I missed any, feel free to leave them in the comment section below

But, without further ado, let’s have some fun and start the countdown…

Honorable Mentions (Best and Worst)

Honorable Mentions (Best):

Steven Adams, Oklahoma City Thunder

Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic

Robin Lopez, Chicago Bulls

Joakim Noah, New York Knicks

Derrick Williams, Miami Heat

Honorable Mentions (Worst):

Omer Asik, New Orleans Pelicans

Jeremy Lin, Brooklyn Nets

Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks

Dennis Schroder, Atlanta Hawks

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

5. Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

He may have rid himself of that terrible perm since the beginning of last season but Kevin Love’s hair was still not on point all season long.

Maybe a better hairstyle is the key to Love rediscovering his all-star potential in Cleveland. At least that perm is gone.

4. Michael Carter-Williams, Milwaukee Bucks

Carter-Williams has shaved his head since the start of the season because whatever he was going for back in 2015, it definitely wasn’t working.

Thankfully, he learnt from Kevin Love that bold is not always better and went for a more reasonable hairstyle by season’s end.

3. George Hill, Utah Jazz

Like Carter-Williams and Love, George Hill no longer rocks this cut but he did until the All-Star break last season.

At first, I liked it but then I think it got a bit too bright for my liking and having the beard, which was obviously a different colour, put me off the hairstyle completely.

2. Kyle Singler, Oklahoma City Thunder

Kyle Singler would look so much better if he just shaved his head. The long, blonde hair just isn’t cutting it (no pun intended).

With potential to have an increased role this season in OKC, Singler should get rid of that hair as he hopes to be featured more frequently on court.

We’ll save the worst of the worst or later…

5. Jae Crowder, Boston Celtics

Many players rock that long pony tail but no one wears it better than Celtics swingman Jae Crowder.

The two white bands just make his hair look all the more better in that beautiful green and white Celtics jersey.

4. Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls

Some people, believe it or not, don’t love Jimmy Butler’s hair. I, on the other hand, absolutely love it.

He clearly had the best hair on Team USA in the Olympics, even though Draymond Green teased him about it on Snapchat. Butler is the best player on the Bulls but he also has the best hair, too.

3. Allen Crabbe, Portland Trail Blazers

Jared Sullinger and Marcus Smart have similar cuts but Crabbe’s is just more aesthetically pleasing.

The fact that it doesn’t look perfect is what makes it perfect, along with those wonderful frosted tips.

2. Lucas Nogueira, Toronto Raptors

Maybe not well known for his NBA skills, Nogueira is recognisable, especially in Toronto, for his insanely cool hair.

Hopefully one day, we can see more of that hair on court rather than sitting on the bench all game.

No. 1 Worst – Aron Baynes, Detroit Pistons

This past Olympics in Rio, Pistons center Aron Baynes decided to change up his hair style. All I need to say here is is that wasn’t a very intelligent choice in his case.

As you can see, Baynes has shaved his head, leaving only a slick ponytail on top and his ginger beard. I don’t know what he was thinking but he sure wasn’t thinking straight.

No. 1 Best – Elfrid Payton, Orlando Magic

Let’s end on a positive note as we see an image of the best hair in the NBA, property of Orlando point guard Elfrid Payton.

It’s undeniable and it doesn’t really need any explaining. Payton’s hair is the best of the best and there isn’t even anyone who comes close to Payton’s floppy, high-rise hairdo.

Agree? Disagree? Did I forget anyone? Leave your opinions in the comments below.
