NBA says James Harden committed an offensive foul before game-winning shot vs. Warriors
The NBA released its officiating report from the final two minutes of Thursday's Warriors-Rockets game and determined that James Harden committed an offensive foul before hitting his game-winning shot.
The NBA ruled that Harden "[initiated] the contact with [Andre] Iguodala to create space and dislodge[d] him from his legal guarding position."
The basket gave Houston a one-point lead. The Warriors would fail to get up a shot on their final possession, handing the Rockets the game.
The uncalled offensive foul was almost immediately pointed out on the TNT broadcast, but it was hardly unique — it was one of five missed in the two minutes of Thursday' game.
Referees Scott Foster, Mark Ayotte, and Tom Washington also missed a kicked ball by Patrick Beverley, a loose-ball foul on Harden in the final minute, an Andre Iguodala arm clamp on Houston's inbounds pass with 14 seconds left, and Draymond Green's slam of Michael Beasley in the final second.
Otherwise, great job...
Golden State leads the first-round series 2-1. The two teams play Game 4 of the series Sunday.
