One live mock draft has Hawks selecting Kentucky big man Trey Lyles

Could the Atlanta Hawks be in the market for a potential Paul Millsap replacement in this year's draft?

According to a live Twitter mock draft between ESPN's Jay Bilas and Chad Ford on Monday, the Hawks could select Kentucky's Trey Lyles. Lyles played out of position for most of his freshman year as a Wildcat since the frontcourt was so crowded at Kentucky, but he legitimately had the offensive game to play small forward.

Where Lyles might come up short, especially in comparison to Millsap, is his jumper. He shot just 4-for-29 on 3-pointers in college; granted, that's not a huge sample size, but the results are alarming, to say the least. Much of his offensive game in college was predicated on his midrange ability, which doesn't exactly fit with the Hawks' offensive system. But Atlanta has shown an ability to develop talented players, and there's no question that Lyles has talent.

The Hawks could have plenty of holes to plug in the roster depending on how the offseason shakes out. DeMarre Carroll might not be back, and without a defensive linchpin on the wings, much of what Atlanta does on that end of the court takes a step back.
