Payton sitting out for Magic with ankle injury

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) Orlando Magic guard Elfrid Payton is sitting out Monday night's game at Detroit with a left ankle bruise.

Payton had appeared in all 116 games of his pro career with the Magic. He's averaging 11 points a game this season, but he managed only nine points total in the four games prior to Monday's matchup with the Pistons.

Orlando's C.J. Watson (left calf) and Detroit's Jodie Meeks (right foot) are also out.
