We know Vivek Ranadive already has a warped view of reality. So, why the heck does he need these?

That picture came at Las Vegas Summer League, where basically the entire Kings organization showed up on a whim Monday. Vlade Divac, DeMarcus Cousins, Rajon Rondo, Caron Butler, George Karl, Kosta Koufos and former Sacramento great Peja Stojakovic made appearances.

The Kings have had a rough offseason, trading away draft picks so they could clear cap space and sign some big names. But reported offers to Wes Matthews, Tobias Harris, Corey Brewer, Patrick Beverley, Andrea Bargnani and Monta Ellis never worked out. All six took less money to sign elsewhere, and the Kings were left signing secondary and tertiary options. It should've been a regrettable decision when it happened. It's even worse now.

But even after the NBA's worst offseason, the Koufoses and Divacs and Pejas were able to show their faces. Vivek went a different route. Maybe that's what he was going for. He couldn't find a mask, so he threw those goggles on.

What's he even watching in there?

Is it the holographic recreation of 4-on-5 basketball? Is it a world where everything is exactly the same except Sim Bhullar is president of the United States? Is it video game virtual reality? Is it the unreasonably paid Super Mario earning coins for the mere act of jumping on a mushroom?

It's anyone's guess.

In a way, the Kings, who have gone through 47 front office changes over the past year, are their own virtual reality. They can't be real. And neither can this. Keep on livin', Vivek.
