Prediction: Sacramento Kings' Box Score Game 22 vs New York Knicks

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Sacramento Kings play host to the New York Knicks on December 9, 2016.  This article predicts the Kings’ box score for that game.

The Sacramento Kings finally return home to the Golden 1 Center to do battle against the New York Knicks.  The Knicks defeated the Kings on December 4th in Madison Square Garden by a score of 106-98.

Last time out, the Kings defeated the Mavericks in Dallas by a score of 120-89.  It was a good all-around showing by Sacramento against a struggling Mavericks squad.  Below is a short highlight video from that game for you to enjoy.

Without further ado, here is my prediction of the box score for tonight’s contest against the New York Knicks.

Box Score Prediction

I discussed the stats about the Knicks less than a week ago, but I will give a short refresher in case you missed that column or just want to see what changed in the last few days.  The Knicks are middle of the NBA’s pack in pace.  They struggle in points allowed at 24th in the NBA and defensive rating at 27th in the NBA.

If you view individual defensive ratings , the Knicks best starter rates at 107.2 points per 100 possessions allowed.  This a bad defensive squad, but the pace may hold the Kings in check slightly.

No crazy predictions tonight by me.  Expect to see a little more Willie Cauley-Stein and a minutes reduction for Kosta Koufos.  They liked the Cauley-Stein matchup against Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis on Sunday.  You can read more about that here in a great article from the Sacramento Bee written by Jason Jones.

Summary

There you have it, my prediction of the Sacramento Kings’ box score for tonight’s game against the New York Knicks.  The Kings are happy to return home and face a Knicks team who has won just 3 of 9 road games this season.  This game should end in a Kings’ victory.  Here is to hoping they can make that a reality tonight.
