Previewing the 2015 Draft Lottery for the Lakers

A potentially defining moment for the Los Angeles Lakers future is right around the corner. The 2015 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday, May 19th, and there's a lot at stake for the Lakers.

After finishing with the fourth worst record in the NBA (and the worst record in franchise history), the Lakers will have an 11.9 percent chance at receiving the first pick in the draft, and a 37.8 percent chance of landing the Top-3. But what happens if the Lakers' pick lands outside of the Top-5?

Here's more from Mike Trudell at Lakers.com:

This particular selection is Top 5 protected due to the 2012 trade for Steve Nash, and there is an 84 percent chance that L.A. keeps it. However, if two teams that are slotted fifth through 14th jump into the Top 3 – a 17 percent chance – the Lakers would lose the pick to Philadelphia (via Phoenix).
