Relive Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook's first-ever matchup in 2008 Final Four

Remember when Derrick Rose was the NBA's youngest MVP of all time, and he had one of the most promising careers of any of the league's elite point guards?

Life comes at you fast. Three knee surgeries later, Rose and Chicago Bulls fans alike are now just happy to see their city's native son take the floor again. After missing the last 20 games after tearing his meniscus (again), Rose is now expected to return Wednesday night in a road matchup against the Orlando Magic.

Let's remember a more halcyon day of Rose's, though. Seven years ago this week, he was a stunning freshman for John Calipari at the University of Memphis and faced off against current Oklahoma City Thunder dynamo and MVP candidate Russell Westbrook, then at UCLA, in the NCAA tournament. The footage is a crazy reminder of just how far both players have come, for better or worse:
