Report: Clippers' Griffin to attend Team USA minicamp
Blake Griffin ended up missing Team USA's last Olympic run because of a knee injury. Now, it seems like he's trying to get back on the bike.
From ESPN's Marc Stein:
"Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will participate in next month’s USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas and hopes to play in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, a league source told ESPN."
Griffin is probably one of the eight or 10 best players in the NBA, especially after his incredible playoff run this past spring, when he averaged 25.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game against the Spurs and Rockets combined. His addition to Team USA only gives the best team in the world another playmaker, scorer and finisher around the rim, which is even more important given FIBA rules allow for athletes like Griffin to thrive on the offensive boards.
