Report: Kings re-sign free agent forward Eric Moreland

Published Sep. 4, 2015 2:55 a.m. ET

Although he appeared in just three games for the Sacramento Kings last season, forward Eric Moreland has apparently done enough to convince the team he should be part of their plan for next season.

According to a report from Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, Moreland and the Kings have agreed to a one-year deal with “significant guarantees” for next season.

Moreland’s NBA career totals are practically nonexistent; he’s tallied two points, one defensive rebound and one foul in two total career minutes spread across the aforementioned three games.

Moreland has shown quite a bit more with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League, however. His ability to dominate smaller, weaker opponents and his ability to position himself for rebounds made him a sought-after free agent this offseason, with several teams reportedly vying for his services.
