Report: Kings trying to figure out if they can fire George Karl for cause

Published Jun. 30, 2015 12:45 p.m. ET

The Kings go through coaches these days like Luke Ridnour goes through teams.

They started this past season with Mike Malone. Their craziness didn't allow it to work so they moved on to Ty Corbin. His inability to coach didn't allow it to work so they moved onto George Karl.

Now, Karl is reportedly pushing for a DeMarcus Cousins trade against the wishes of management, and Sacramento, unsurprisingly, is reportedly looking for a way to justify firing Karl, who signed a long-term deal this year. From RealGM:

The Sacramento Kings are studying whether they can fire George Karl for "cause" after he attempted to trade DeMarcus Cousins.

Karl has three seasons and nearly $10 million left in guaranteed money on his deal with the Kings.

The Kings have been dismayed by how quickly Karl's relationship with DeMarcus Cousins became toxic and irreparable.
