Report: 'No evidence' of a Chris Andersen-for-Jamal Crawford trade
Jamal Crawford has been on the trading block for a little while now, but the Clippers can't seem to find what they consider to be a fair offer for the two-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner.
We've heard the Knicks are interested in him. We've heard the same about the Heat. But the offers just aren't there, and according to the Miami Herald, the seemingly perfect-for-the-situation Crawford-for-Chris Andersen trade isn't necessarily on the table:
The Clippers did sign Cole Aldrich this offseason, so it's not like they're in dire need for a backup center or rim-protector. It makes sense why they wouldn't want to unload possibly their best instant-offense option for a luxury.
But Crawford is a luxury at this point, too, considering L.A. brought in loads of guards and wings this offseason. The trade for Lance Stephenson and the re-signing of Austin Rivers turned the bench unit into a group that houses loads of dribble-first players. Those styles don't always work when you use them together. But the Clippers can't really afford to be picky with Crawford, considering there aren't many teams willing to give up much at all to acquire him.
We'll see how this develops.

Miami remains willing to dealing Chris Andersen (due $5 million) but hasn’t found much of a market for him, according to an NBA official who has been in contact with the Heat. There has been no evidence/confirmation that the Clippers are considering a Jamal Crawford-Andersen swap that has been raised only as a logical hypothetical by a couple of NBA media members. And though Crawford can't be ruled out for Miami, the Heat is happy with its perimeter depth.
