Rondo, Kings respond to alleged slur aimed at NBA referee
The Sacramento Kings and point guard Rajon Rondo have each responded to reports that Rondo aimed homophobic slurs at NBA referee Bill Kennedy, an offense for which Rondo has been suspended one game.
On Monday, Yahoo Sports reported the incident -- including game details provided by the National Basketball Referee's Association. Rondo was not available for comment after Sacramento's practice on Monday. He did, however, tweet a response to the incident.
The Kings organization issued a statement via email from owner Vivek Ranadive and VP of Basketball Operations/GM Vlade Divac.
Kennedy revealed to Yahoo Sports that he is gay. Rondo will serve his one-game suspension on Tuesday against the Rockets.
