Russell Westbrook's triple-double vs. 76ers is the first of its kind
Russell Westbrook has the fifth-most triple-doubles in NBA history, but the one he authored Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers was the first of its kind. Westbrook hit all six of his shots from the field and also all six of his attempts from the free-throw line, becoming the first player to do that in a triple-double.

Westbrook finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists in only 28 minutes, sitting out the fourth quarter of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 122-97 victory. It was the 13th time this season and 27th time in his career that he notched a triple-double in three quarters.
The Thunder superstar and MVP candidate recorded his 35th triple-double this season and the fifth of his career against the 76ers. With 11 games left in the regular season, Westbrook needs six more triple-doubles to tie Oscar Robertson’s single-season mark, which was set during the 1961-62 season. Westbrook, who is averaging 31.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 10.4 assists after Wednesday's game, is trying to become the first player since Robertson to average a triple-double for an entire season.
