We need to have a talk about April Fools' Day.

There are two ways to approach what is objectively the worst day of the year. You can make up inane lies and try to pass them off as truth, which the rest of the world recognizes as the actions of a sociopath 364 days of the year — or you can embrace the cheeky nature of the day with some good, old-fashioned pranks.

Pranks are fine! That's really what the day is for, after all. In France, for example, the day is called "Poisson d'Avril," where children try to stick paper fish onto the backs of adults before running away laughing. You know, just some harmless fun.

Now, I don't think Toronto Raptors wing Patrick Patterson is French, but he did embrace the "sticky paper" part of April Fools' Day when he pranked teammates Norm Powell and Fred VanVleet by covering their vehicles in Post-It notes:

Although it's unclear what exactly caused Patterson to go to such lengths, he hinted at some Kentucky-based sin on his Snapchat:

“First and foremost, I want to say I love all my teammates. We’re family, we’re brothers.

"But to Fred: Don’t mess with me, dawg. Don’t mess with me. And to Norm: Don’t mess with me, dawg. Don’t mess with Kentucky.”
