San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for Saturday's Game 3 against the Warriors. Gregg Popovich told reporters of his decision at the morning shootaround.

“In the end, I guess it’s my decision,” Popovich said. “He’s not thrilled that he’s not playing. But he’s not ready, so we’re not going to play him.”

Leonard initially suffered the injury in the third quarter of Game 1, on a borderline dirty play from Golden State's Zaza Pachulia. Popovich admitted that he considered the long-term health of Leonard before making the final call to sit him.

“That’s part of it,” he said.

Leonard is one of the three finalists for MVP this season. He averaged 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists, and is known as being one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Without him in Game 2, the Spurs lost to the Warriors by 36 points.
