Stanley Johnson lets Kevin Durant know he just started a war with Detroit
After a game-sealing rebound in a 82-80 win over a depleted Oklahoma Thunder team earlier this week, Reggie Jackson celebrated a little too much for Russell Westbrook's liking. Kevin Durant, who was watching Jackson prance around from the sidelines that night, called his former teammate's antics "bush league," and added on Thursday that they would've "beat the hell" out of this Pistons team had he and Serge Ibaka been playing.
"I wanted to play against Detroit for sure," Durant said, "but...you know. It's Detroit. You know, who cares about Detroit?"
Ooowee.
Obviously things weren't going to end there, and when rookie Pistons forward Stanley Johnson spoke to reporters on Friday, he hit Durant and the Thunder with the requisite ain't nobody scared of you clap back, putting them on notice for when the two teams square off next season:

Jackson also spoke to the press on Friday, adding that he doesn't really mind being a heel. "I don't think anybody likes us," Jackson said. "It's still Detroit vs. everybody. That's still how our mentality is."
For context, Jackson spent the first three-and-a-half years of his professional career being a sixth wheel in Oklahoma before a three-team trade landed him in Detroit last season. A move that made Jackson cry tears of joy.
Definitely mark those calendars, friends. The next Thunder-Pistons game may be a ways off, but it should be suitably lit.
