Thunder's Westbrook gives shoes, backpacks to 65 homeless OKC children
He's the manifestation of fire, passion and competitiveness on the court. And when Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook steps outside the lines, that passion turns into a whole lot of giving. Just ask the 65 homeless Oklahoma City children who received backpacks and awesome shoes this week, courtesy of Westbrook.

And when we say awesome, we mean awesome. Westbrook came bearing Jordan Brand shoes to go with the backpacks, and the reaction from the children was priceless:
Earlier this week, Westbrook also visited a fan who is paralyzed in the hospital, with little fanfare at the time. And on a larger scale, the Thunder point guard also recently made a record donation to UCLA, his former college.
Westbrook's charitable shoe and backpack donations were made alongside City Rescue Mission, a "private, faith-based nonprofit organization providing solution-based ministry to the homeless and near homeless in the Oklahoma City metro," according to the organization's website.
Westbrook's own charitable foundation bears the question "Why Not?" in its name. And with acts like these, Westbrook is living up to the sentiment.
