Phoenix Suns act as Russell Westbrook’s punching back

“In a contest wholly dominated by the Thunder, Oklahoma City’s two-way preeminence was on display as Westbrook assisted on seven of OKC’s first ten makes. Meanwhile, the Thunder built a 23-14 advantage before “The Brodie” took a seat. As Westbrook observed, Phoenix placed together a mini-rally to pull within five. However, a resolute Thunder defense thwarted the Suns’ consequent offensive efforts and ended the quarter ahead 30-20.”

Wow. Russell Westbrook was a surgeon last night. Westbrook had a career-high 22 assists and only 5 turnovers; those 5 turnovers are the most impressive stat of the whole night. With Oladipo out for the third game in a row, Russ had to be the whole offense. And Russ was the whole offense. He only took 17 shots, making all the right decisions all night.
