Watch Cavaliers' Richard Jefferson lash out after elbow from Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas
He might only be 35 years old, but it feels like Richard Jefferson has been in the NBA forever.
The Cleveland Cavaliers wing is the quintessential basketball old man. He keeps his head down, does what his team asks, and provides a lift to the Cavs' chemistry with his fantastic Snapchat account.
All in all, he's kind of like the jovial uncle LeBron James and the rest of this Cleveland squad never knew they needed. But make no mistake -- if you step to Jefferson, he's going to unleash the full fury of his old man rage on you in a heartbeat.
It's a lesson Toronto Raptors big man Jonas Valanciunas learned during Friday night's Game 6, after he delivered an elbow to Jefferson's midsection. The former Arizona standout did not take kindly to the blow:
It kind of looks like Valanciunas was trying to apologize for the contact, but Jefferson was having none of it. Instead, he responded with some aggressive old-man finger-pointing. "And let me tell you another thing, son, I was playing basketball before you were a gleam in your daddy's eye! And I should know -- I served with him back during the great war!"
Both Valanciunas and Jefferson were assessed technical fouls for the altercation, as was Toronto's Patrick Patterson for joining the brewing brouhaha.
Naturally, Twitter had jokes about the whole ordeal:
