Watch Kendrick Perkins nearly break his own ankles
Kendrick Perkins has faded into obscurity since losing his starting spot and being traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder last season.
He doesn't have a post game, can't pass, dribble or shoot, and is too slow to properly show and recover on pick-and-rolls. His playing time has reflected the league's shift towards small-ball: He averaged fewer than 10 minutes per game on the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, and is a bit player on the New Orleans Pelicans this season.
Whenever Perkins does play, though, hilarity often ensues.
Like when he tries to pump fake and drive at DeMarcus Cousins, yet nearly ends up breaking his own ankle and falling over:
There's no denying Perkins' value as an enforcer, a selfless teammate and a locker-room presence, as the Cavs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics can attest to.
But the less he touches the ball, the better.
