Wizards SG Bradley Beal sidelined at least two weeks with leg injury
DALLAS -- Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a right leg injury.
The Wizards announced before their game at Dallas on Saturday night that Beal had "the beginnings of a stress reaction in his lower right fibula."
The team said Beal will be evaluated after sitting out two weeks.
The injury was diagnosed after an MRI on Friday, when Beal missed Washington's 107-105 loss at New Orleans, and confirmed after more tests Saturday.
"It's part of the game," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. "He's been through it. We know the protocol, what needs to take place. We've got to sustain without him."
Beal missed eight games with the injury last season, and Wittman said this injury is in the same part of the bone.
Beal is second on the Wizards with 19.8 points per game, fourth in rebounding at 4.7 and second in assists at 3.2.
