You'll never guess who the first NBA player was to block Robin Lopez
If there is one thing Robin Lopez knows, it's his brother, Brook.
The two are now the starting centers for each New York team. Robin resides at Madison Square Garden while Brook rests in Barclays Center. Friday night, the two will face off for the first time as co-New Yorkers, for the first time since Robin signed a four-year deal with the Knicks over this past summer.
With the initial Lopez vs. Lopez matchup comes loads of hype. That should be no surprise. This fun stat, courtesy of ESPN's Mike Mazzeo, might be, though:
Robin's Knicks career has gotten off to a nice start. The twin is averaging 7.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in 24.4 minutes a night for Derek Fisher. Brook has put up bigger numbers on the other side of town, averaging 20.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
ESPN notes (Elias): Robin Lopez's first NBA FGA he had blocked was by Brook (Nov. 4, 2008) Twins each have 2 blks vs. one another #Nets #NYK
