1972 Dolphins' big mouth Mercury Morris sounds off on Panthers
It's a tradition like no other. Former Miami Dolphins running back Mercury Morris -- a member of the 1972 undefeated championship team -- delivered his reaction to the Carolina Panthers dropping their first game of the season in a 20-13 Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
First of all, I take my hat off to the @panthers and @CameronNewton for getting as far as they did...

I was looking forward to having @CameronNewton in that seat next to me but hey, THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR. #StillPerfect

Morris has become known for his proclivity to provide his two cents when the final remaining undefeated team loses every season, but he made sure to provide a caveat this time -- he's still pulling for Cam Newton and the Panthers.
Now @CameronNewton and the @Panthers can get back to what's important, and that's WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP!

Morris also cleared up the rumor that he and his former teammates pop open the champagne every season when the last undefeated team loses.
So PLEASE STOP with this champagne stuff! Why would I want @CameronNewton to lose? He's having a great season!
