2017 Pro Bowl Rosters: 2 Rams Players Make the Cut
The 2017 Pro Bowl Rosters have been announced and two Los Angeles Rams players have made the cut.
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and punter Johnny Hekker have been named to the 2017 Pro Bowl rosters.
The NFL announced the rosters on Tuesday evening and Rams fans have a reason to celebrate; that is, if you care about this sort of thing.
You can get a look at the full rosters for both the AFC and NFC here.
Donald and Hekker were the two players named for Los Angeles. This will be back-to-back appearances for both players.
Interior linemen: Aaron Donald*, Rams; Gerald McCoy*, Buccaneers; Fletcher Cox, Eagles
Punter: Johnny Hekker*, Rams
Donald has had a monster season for the Rams, despite the woes of the rest of the team. The star defensive lineman, who is in his third season after being taken 13th overall by the Rams in 2014, has 42 combined tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.
What’s more impressive is that Donald has been among the league’s elite at pressuring the quarterback, which is surprising for an interior lineman.
Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt was also thought to be a consideration for a spot on the NFC team, and even threw a rally for himself earlier in the season.
Unfortunately for Britt, who is ranked 13th in receiving yards and is just 13 away from 1,000, he didn’t make the cut. Regardless, Britt is on the verge of being the first Rams receiver to break the 1,000-yard mark since Torry Holt back in 2007.
