49ers Tight End Bruce Miller Arrested for Assault, per Report
San Francisco 49ers tight end Bruce Miller has been arrested for an assault on a 70-year-old man, per a report from the Bay Area’s KTVU in San Francisco.
The San Francisco 49ers are again dealing with another off-the-field incident after going some time without any such cases.
Bay Area news station KTVU reported Sunday morning that tight end Bruce Miller had been arrested for an alleged assault on a 70-year-old man at a San Francisco hotel.
Per the report, Miller had punched the man in the face after a disagreement over a dispute over room occupancy. Additionally, the report indicated Miller had also punched the man’s son.
Both victims were taken to the hospital for injuries, and the 70-year-old man apparently suffered broken bones in his face.
The 49ers released the following statement.
“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the media report regarding Bruce Miller. We are gathering the relevant facts of this matter and will continue to monitor the situation.”
Miller was under the influence of alcohol, per the report.
This marks the second off-the-field incident Miller has dealt with in his 49ers tenure. The 29-year-old tight end was arrested just over a year ago for spousal battery and pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.
The arrest doesn’t bode well for San Francisco — a team going through a major rebuild of its roster.
So keep posted as further developments continue to turn up.
