Adam Vinatieri Named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
According to the NFL’s Director of Communications Randall Liu, Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week:

The 43 year old kicker made 5 of 5 field goals last weekend against the Chicago Bears including two field goals that were 53 yards or longer.
Of course, this special teams honor is apparently nothing new for Vinatieri–who has the most in NFL history:

On the season, Vinatieri has perfectly converted 13 of 13 field goals–having arguably his best season yet. Not to mention, he’s also made all 12 extra points.
The 21-year veteran has now made 68 of 71 (95.8%) of field goals over the past 3 seasons. In fact, he’s made 38 field goals now in a row, which is the 3rd most all-time in NFL history behind former Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt–who once made 42 consecutive field goals.
Simply put, Vinatieri remains one of the best kickers in the business and seems to be getting increasingly better with age. He’s an ageless wonder, who’s 43 years old and still kicking–and at a high level at that.
