Adrian Peterson's workout with Jameis Winston has Bucs coach intrigued

Adrian Peterson isn’t letting himself go as he continues to sit on the open market. The free-agent running back apparently has been working out with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston as the future Hall of Famer looks for his next team while the 22-year-old hones his skills under center.

The two stars took a photo with Winston’s personal quarterback coach George Whitfield and his conditioning coach Tim Grover in Houston.

The photo prompted reporters to ask Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter about the workouts.

"I've seen Adrian Peterson many times -- one of the best running backs to ever play," Koetter said, via ESPN, after initially being caught off guard by the photo. "I'm anxious to talk to Jameis and ask him about how his workouts went."

The Vikings did not pick up Peterson’s option earlier this month, which would have paid him $18 million next season, making the 32-year-old an unrestricted free agent. Could the Bucs have interest in the three-time rushing champ with their Pro Bowl running back Doug Martin suspended three games next season as part of a four-game PED penalty the league issued late last season?
