AFC West News: Jason Verrett Tears ACL
San Diego Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett suffered a torn ACL in Week 4, and is out for the rest of the season.
For the second time this season, a key member of the Chargers has gone down with a season-ending injury.
In Week 1, standout wide receiver (and noted Oakland Raiders fan) Keenan Allen suffered a torn ACL, and was subsequently placed on injured reserve. Now star cornerback Jason Verrett will be joining Allen on IR, with the same injury.
Chargers’ CB Jason Verrett told @eric_d_williams that he will have surgery on his torn ACL and his season is over. Another blow to SD.

An injury to a player of Verrett’s caliber will certainly make things easier for the Raiders, but it’s always awful to see players suffer injuries, especially if they are serious. And if as an NFL fan, if you appreciate the competitive aspect of the sport, seeing a player as talented as Verrett go down is a bummer.
