Agent: Calvin Johnson has no timetable for retirement decision
Don't expect Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson to settle the speculation surrounding his potential retirement any time soon.
Three weeks after releasing a statement about his uncertain future, Johnson's agent said the star receiver still has no timetable for a final decision.
Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press:
Johnson, 30, just completed his ninth NFL season. Although he played in all 16 games, numerous injuries have sapped some of his ability over the years. They haven't killed his productivity, though; he has recorded at least 70 receptions and 1,000 yards in seven of the past eight seasons.
There's little doubt that Johnson can come back and be effective in 2016. He has four years and more than $60 million in base salary left on his current contract, but Megatron could leave all that behind by choosing the early retirement route this offseason.
