Andre Ellington is OK with Cardinals drafting another running back
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington has heard all the rumors about the Cardinals potentially drafting a running back in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
“It’s whatever will better our team,” Ellington told the Arizona Cardinals team page. “That’s most important. No one is going to hate any decisions. I’m sure those guys will make the best decisions to help the team. We’ll accept any guy who comes in.”
Coach Bruce Arians and General Manager Steve Keim have been very transparent when talking about the running back situation this offseason and the need to improve it.
Arians went on to say that he still expects Ellington to be a big part of the offense.
“His touches should not come down,” Arians said during the NFL owners meetings.
Ellington is just excited to get back on the football field after an injury filled 2014 season.
“Any injured guy, when they are fully healthy they want to get it started as quickly as possible,” Ellington said. “Erase all those memories.”
Ellington is ready to prove the doubters wrong now that he says he is finally healthy.
“I’m back to normal,” he said. “I sure some people (doubt), but that’s kind of good. I like that they forgot what I can do. It gives me a chance to show that what I did in the past is still there.”
