Antonio Brown breaks Odell Beckham's world record for one-handed catches
When it comes to one-handed catches in the NFL, the first name that comes to mind is usually New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. After all, he owns the world record for most one-handed catches in a minute -- until last weekend, that is.
Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown set out to break the officiial Guinness World Record of 33 one-handed grabs set last year by Beckham and throwing partner Drew Brees in the festivities leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl in Santa Clara. Brown didn't just break the record, he smashed it, snagging 40 balls with the help of Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. Here's the video evidence:
Also on hand looking to set new world records were Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee and former Seattle Seahawks long snapper Nate Boyer. McAfee put his name in the record books by making a 40-yard field goal blindfolded while Boyer made his mark with the longest long snap in Guinness history at 30 yards.
McAfee, who is also an aspiring comedian in his spare time, expressed his joy after earning his place in history, via the official Guinness World Records site.
"I came out of my mother and I think on May 3, 1987 I was a little baby Pat and I looked in the mirror and said 'I want to be in the Guinness World Records book' and today I can proudly say that I’m in there."
