The Pittsburgh Steelers carried their offensive momentum into Week 5 after crushing the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football. Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger finds wide receiver Sammie Coates for a huge first touchdown of the day against the New York Jets.
On a third and seven from the Steelers 28-yard line, Roethlisberger uses his elite arm strength to hit Coates in stride for an impressive 72-yard touchdown. It would put the Steelers up 7-3 on the visiting Jets early in the first quarter after the made PAT.

Roethlisberger has always had one of the strongest arms in the NFL. The only thing is that he is a superior player once he is driven out of the pocket by the opposing defense. This means we rarely get to see him go all-out on a throw from a clean pocket such as this.
He would hit Coates in stride at the Jets’ 32-yard line. With New York missing star cover corner Darrelle Revis in this game, it was off to the races for Coates and the easy Steelers’ touchdown.
Roethlisberger already has one of the most skilled wideouts in the game in Antonio Brown. However, he needed to find a viable No. 2 receiver once Martavis Bryant had to miss the 2016 season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Coates was a star collegiately for the Auburn Tigers. After being so-so his first few years in the NFL, Coates is emerging as a strong wide receiver for the Steelers. It absolutely helps to have a top-10 quarterback all-time like Roethlisberger throwing him the football.
