Ben Roethlisberger returns to Steelers practice two weeks after knee surgery
Well, that didn’t take long.
Only two weeks after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was back on the practice field Monday.
Roethlisberger injured the knee Oct. 17 in a 30-15 loss to the Dolphins but missed just one series before undergoing the procedure the next day. He sat out Pittsburgh’s loss to New England a week later and then had this Sunday off while on a bye week.
The Steelers’ two straight losses have dropped them to 4-3, but they remain one game ahead of both the Bengals and Ravens in the AFC North ahead of Sunday's game against Baltimore. Now it looks like Roethlisberger will be back in time for that game.
Running back Le’Veon Bell told reporters that Roethlisberger ran the offense through a hurry-up drill and 7-on-7s on Monday, according to Pennlive.com.
Bell and other Steelers were impressed with their quarterback’s performance.
"I know how it feels coming back from a knee injury and the things you go through," Bell said. "I know how you feel in the morning versus how you feel at night and compared to the rest of the day, so the fact I see him out there doing what he could is very encouraging."
