Bengals' Dalton 20th on QB rankings, just ahead of Kaepernick

Published Jul. 7, 2015 2:37 p.m. ET

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton normally serves as a punching bag when it comes to league-wide QB rankings.

Dalton got a little more respect in The MMQB's latest power rankings, just barely making the cut as a top 20 quarterback. Dalton came in right at 20, behind Oakland's Derek Carr and ahead of San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick.

Dalton has the edge over Kaepernick when it comes to passing numbers, but Kaepernick has led his team to a Super Bowl whereas Dalton is still looking for his first playoff win. The odd thing is that Carr is ranked ahead of both with just one year under his belt. Carr was kept on a tight leash his rookie season, but did show potential to be a franchise QB. We're just not sure he's deserving of a ranking ahead of both Dalton and Kaepernick already.
