Bengals DE Michael Johnson back at practice

Published Sep. 8, 2015 12:29 p.m. ET

Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson was back on the practice field Monday for the first time since suffering a sprained MCL on Aug. 2.

The initial timetable for Johnson's return was four weeks, but his status for Sunday's season opener in Oakland is still unclear. He has been working on the rehab field since Aug. 26. If Johnson is unable to play Sunday, Wallace Gilberry will likely start in his place.

Also returning to practice after missing time this preseason were linebacker Emmanuel Lamur (hamstring), corner Darqueze Dennard (groin), and corner Leon Hall (undisclosed).
