Andy Dalton came through in the clutch for in front of his hometown fans. Unfortunately, it wasn't playing football.
Dalton belted two home runs in MLB's Legends and Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, part of the league's All-Star festivities in Cincinnati. The hometown fans must've been thrilled to see their team's quarterback representing at such a high-profile event, right?
Well ... not exactly. The boo birds were out in full force when Dalton was introduced, as seen here:

Dalton took the negativity all in stride, telling the Cincinnati Enquirer that he wasn't worried about it. "Everybody has got an opinion. It doesn't really matter. It comes with it. Everybody has their opinion here. There's a lot of support and that's all that matters."
Not sure what was louder the cheers for Eric Davis or the boos for Andy Dalton in #ASG Celebrity Softball Game intros

Before the game, Dalton was spotted in the batting cage with former Reds outfield Paul O'Neill. Maybe Dalton's two dingers fulfilled a promise to a young boy?
.@Reds- Paul O'Neill and @andydalton14 were talking during batting practice. Both hit homers. Coincidence? pic.twitter.com/15YmlY8gKw
