Bengals TE Tyler Eifert reportedly targeting Week 4 return from Pro Bowl injury
The Cincinnati Bengals will be without their star tight end Tyler Eifert to start the season, but he shouldn’t be out for too long after that. Eifert suffered an unfortunate ankle injury in the Pro Bowl earlier this year which required surgery. After undergoing the procedure in May, he was said to be out three months.
An updated timetable for his return was reported by Ian Rapoport on Friday, suggesting he’s targeting Weeks 4-6 as a possible debut date.
Rapoport also states that Eifert could push it up to Week 3, but the team will likely be cautious.
Eifert caught 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns in just 13 games last season, so his production will be sorely missed early on – particularly with Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones no longer in Cincinnati.
If he were to return in Week 4, it’d be for a meeting with the Miami Dolphins.

#Bengals TE Tyler Eifert is doing well after May surgery to repair a loose ligament. Maybe he could push it to Week 3, but CIN will be safe
