Bengals will release veteran linebacker A.J. Hawk

The Cincinnati Bengals will release linebacker A.J. Hawk, FOX Sports NFL Insider Alex Marvez reported Tuesday.

Hawk, 32, played in 16 games (11 starts) for the Bengals last season and recorded one sack and 24 tackles.

Hawk was the fifth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, with whom he played from 2006-2014. In his 10-season NFL career, Hawk has nine interceptions and 20 sacks. He had arguably his best season in 2013 with five sacks, an interception and 118 tackles.
