This season of “Hard Knocks” featuring the Texans is over and there may not be anyone happier than head coach Bill O’Brien.

The popular HBO series showed lots of J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins and DeAngelo Hall jawing during a joint practice session, and O’Brien picking his starting quarterback. Now, it’s time for the season to start and that means HBO’s cameras are leaving the Texans facilities.

Among those glad to be finished with “Hard Knocks” is Bill O’Brien, who called it one of the best days of his life.

We’ve heard over the years that numerous teams have turned down to opportunity to be on “Hard Knocks” with some citing the headaches of the added distraction being something they didn’t want to deal with. While some may have enjoyed the extra air time, based on where O’Brien ranked the day of camera crews leaving, it’s obvious the head coach was not in that group.

The Texans will be in the clear for a while in terms of making another appearance on the show. This time next year, another coach will be in O’Brien’s shoes and only time will tell if he feels the same way when his turn is wrapped up.
