Bill O'Brien pleased to have CB Charles James back in Houston
After spending the first part of the regular season on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, cornerback Charles James is back with the Houston Texans.
With Houston dealing with injuries in the secondary, James was claimed on waivers Monday. Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson is dealing with a sprained ankle, while safety Quintin Demps is nursing a hamstring injury.
James, who gained notoriety on last summer's "Hard Knocks" for his efforts to make the team and his impressive sock collection, is also expected to contribute on special teams. He was released by Baltimore last Saturday after a brief promotion to the active roster.
"We brought back Charles and his socks, we’ll see what kind of socks he’s wearing,” O’Brien said, per the Houston Chronicle. “I think he’ll really help us on special teams and add some depth in the secondary. We have a couple of injuries there.
“He’s excited about being back. He really enjoys the coaching staff and the teammates here and is excited about having that camaraderie back.”
James and the Texans travel to Miami to face the Dolphins on Sunday.
