Bill O'Brien weighs in on 2015 schedule
The Houston Texans won't be earning nearly as many frequent flier miles this season, and that's just fine with head coach Bill O'Brien.
The Texans' 2015 schedule was released Tuesday night, and head coach Bill O'Brien offered his take to the team's official website.
One area O'Brien was particular pleased with? Travel. The Texans won't have to venture west of LRG Stadium during the regular season.
"We don't really travel to the west coast on this schedule, so the travel doesn't seem to be too bad," O'Brien told HoustonTexans.com. "Right now, looking at the schedule, we're all excited about it."
Houston's Dec. 13 matchup against the Patriots will give O'Brien, Vince Wilfork, Ryan Mallett and others a chance to face their former team, but the coach downplayed any familiarity he might have facing New England.
"For us, I think it's just a huge challenge to have the Super Bowl champion coming in here in December for a home game in front of the Houston crowd," O'Brien said.
The Texans kick off the regular season Sept. 13 at home against Kansas City.
