Jones' draft stock fell signifigantly over the past year, as many expected him to be a top 10 pick if he would have elected to go pro in 2015. He put up three remarkable performances for Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game and the Buckeyes' two playoff games, causing him to skyrocket on many teams' draft boards.
Jones has said he doesn't regret his choice not to turn pro immediatley after his magical college football playoff run, but the decision certainly cost him financially. His will get a $250,000 signing bonus from the Bills; that is anywhere from $5million to $15 million less than he would've received if he were a top-20 pick last year.
The 23-year-old QB is considered a raw, unpolished talent who will was viewed by most teams as a long-term project. He will likely be the Bills' third-stringer behind Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel.
