Bills legend Thurman Thomas' doctors gave him an alarming assessment of his brain

Buffalo Bills legend Thurman Thomas, now 49, opened up for the first time Friday about the impact that concussions have had on his life after football. Speaking at the DSBN International Concussion Summit in Niagara Falls, the Hall of Famer revealed that he suffers from mood swings, and that doctors have given him an alarming assessment of the damage done to his brain.

Thomas played in 182 games over 13 seasons as a running back with the Bills and the Dolphins, and is 14th on the all-time rushing list. Thomas noted that the protocol regarding concussions was far different during his career and said that his current condition doesn't make him any "less loyal to the National Football League."
